Laser

Maria Duran-Shy FNP-BC, ACNP-BC

Maria has been a registered nurse since 1991 and a nurse practitioner since 2009. She currently works in a family practice clinic in Westcliffe Colorado.  She became interested in laser procedures about 14 years ago after having experienced laser hair removal with excellent results.  It has taken some time to realize the goal of having her own laser and being able to be in a position to help women (and men) feel better, look better about themselves and have better skin.

Maria trained with Ashley James, the fourth nationally recognized laser specialist in the USA with over 20 years of experience in the cosmetic laser business. Ashley is a partner with Dermasthetic Consulting, a company specializing in training professionals in the esthetics field. Ashley is also a trainer for National MedSpa Training Institute and is a trainer for Cutera ®. Maria trained in Light and Laser modalities and procedures with National MedSpa Training Institute. Maria is certified in all light and laser modalities and for all different laser wavelengths.

Maria uses a top-of-the-line Cutera® XEO, a multiplatform device that performs the laser procedures below.

Services Offered:

  • Pearl Fractional
    • Using Cutera® Pearl Fractional Technology this deep fractional laser is used to treat moderate to severe sun damaged or aging skin, acne scars, and discoloration on the entire face. Ideal candidates for Pearl Fractional treatment are those with light to medium skin tones and skin imperfections.
  • Laser Genesis
    • Laser Genesis by Cutera® is a treatment that can improve the appearance of redness, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles. This treatment stimulates elastin and collagen formation with no down time. Eight 15-20 minute treatments will significantly improve the look of your skin.
  • Laser treatments for troublesome acne
    • Using Cutera® technology we combine Laser Genesis and LimeLight IPL to treat active acne and discoloration caused by acne scarring. This combination treatment will reduce redness and improve the look of scars.
  • LimeLight IPL
    • The Cutera® LimeLight IPL (intense pulsed light) is a photofacial laser which targets brown spots and redness to effectively even your skin tone. As we age imperfections occur in our skin due to sun damage and skin trauma. LimeLight IPS is a powerful technology which rejuvenates skin in 1-4 treatments and can be used on any area of the body including face, arms, legs, chest, or back.
  • Laser Spider Vein Treatment
    • Fast and effective treatment for spider veins face and legs. Facial spider veins (telangiectasia) can cause red and bluish facial discoloration.
  • 2D Skin Rejuvenation
    • Combines LimeLight and Laser Genesis to treat hyperpigmentation (dark spots of the skin), sun damage, and loss of collagen, acne scars, overly oily skin, rosacea, and fine lines.
